From Brussels: Brussels Contrasts tour and day trip to Leuven

We begin in front of the iconic Cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula in Brussels – the perfect meeting point to start this day full of contrasts. From there, we’ll board the bus for a panoramic tour through the lower part of Brussels, passing through the Molenbeek district, known for its rich history and cultural diversity, and continuing past the Botanical Garden. Along the way, we’ll reflect on historical figures such as King Baudouin of Belgium and make a photo stop at the iconic Atomium – the city’s most recognisable landmark.

Our next stop is Leuven, where we’ll enjoy a guided walking tour through this charming university town. We’ll explore the stunning Leuven Town Hall – considered one of the most beautiful in Europe – and the historic Catholic University of Leuven, a centre of learning for centuries. Highlights also include the University Library, St Peter’s Church, St Michael’s Church, and the famous Fons Sapientiae statue – a symbol of student life. No visit would be complete without a stop at the Oude Markt, often called “the longest bar in the world”, and a chance to learn more about the world-renowned Stella Artois beer.

After the tour, there will be free time to relax, have lunch, explore at your own pace, or try some Belgian specialities such as mussels with fries or delicious Belgian chocolate.

We then return to Brussels for a second panoramic bus tour, this time through the upper part of the city, where we’ll see the Palace of Justice, the Mont des Arts, and the headquarters of the European Commission.

To round off this complete day trip, we’ll take a guided walking tour through the historic heart of Brussels, with stops at the Grand Place, the Manneken Pis, and other must-see city landmarks. We’ll end the tour next to the Belgian Beer World – Brussels’ beer museum. And if you wish, you’ll have the chance to enjoy one last experience centred on Belgium’s most iconic drink.
