Itinerary Itinerary

We will depart at 08:30 am from Brussels city centre, and travel to the charming town of Bruges. Enjoy one of the most fascinating medieval cities in Europe with an English-speaking guide, and discover why the entire historic centre of Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will have 4 hours of free time for lunch after the guided tour to explore the city as you please. Our guides will recommend you some of the most exclusive Bruges pastry shops, where you will find the best chocolate in the world, and you may also pop into some of the city’s legendary lace shops.

We will be able to enjoy the peacefulness of the Lake of Love, Also called Minnewater, one of the most romantic places in Bruges, with a unique love story hidden inside it. Close by, the Begijnhof (Beguinage) awaits us. One of Bruges’s most representative places, Begijnhof is also known as “Monastery of the Vineyard”. This place was declared a World Heritage Site in 1998, and after you visit you will understand why.

Another stop on our guided tour, the Bruges Walplein, is a square that is perfect to discover the medieval side of the city that fascinates everyone that crosses it. At the edge of Bruges Walplein starts one of the narrowest streets of the city, Stoofstraat. Once the ideal place to not be seen, today it’s the place to buy any kind of souvenirs you wish for.

Next, we will discover the beautiful Church of Our Lady. This church is definitely full of history and art, with the main attraction being Michelangelo’s impressive marble 'Madonna and Child'. Opposite to Notre Dame Church stands the Sint-Janshospitaal (Saint John’s Museum), one of the oldest hospital buildings in Europe. Built in the 12th century, it now holds invaluable art work as a testament of its centuries of history looking after the weak.

Our guide will also take us to the Gruuthusemuseum. This palace belonged to the Grunthense family, one of the most powerful families in Bruges. Nowadays it has been converted into a Museum that holds artwork and artifacts that span five centuries of history. Don’t miss the view of the charming St Bonifacius Bridge: it dates from the early 20th century and is one of Bruges’ newest bridges, even though it may not look like it at first.

Rozenhoedkaai is one of the most stunning places in Bruges and for this reason it is one of the most photographed spots in the city. Take your own photos as a memory of your trip. It is an ideal location to stop for a moment and enjoy one of Bruges most timeless sceneries. During this tour we will be visiting Huidenvettersplein, a tiny square that is surrounded by restaurants and is always full of artists gazing around, giving the square an intimate and relaxing atmosphere.

Of course, our guide will take us to Burg Square, where the town of Bruges was firstly born and where we will find the Town Hall of Bruges. Nearby stands the Basilica of the Holy Blood, a Romanesque lower church connected to the Neo-Gothic upper church where the Holy Blood is preserved. A legend says that a part of the Holy Blood was brought here from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace.

Next, we will stop at Bruges main market square, the Grote Markt, and the Bell Tower. At this square you will find some of the most important buildings of the city and enjoy the incredible atmosphere. Last but not least, we will enjoy the sight of the Belfort tower, another symbol of Bruges and another world heritage site! The tower dates back to the 13th century and is characterised by a stunning view over the city and its surroundings.
