Day trip to Tabarca, Santa Pola and the Pink Lake from Torrevieja

The adventure begins in Torrevieja, with a visit to the heart of the Las Lagunas de la Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park.

In this protected area, you'll explore a spectacular landscape dominated by the famous Pink Lake– one of the most unique in Europe. You'll discover why the water takes on its distinctive pink hue, how this saltwater lagoon is formed, and learn about the ancient process of salt extraction at the historic Torrevieja salt flats. As you follow the walking trails, you’ll see the iconic white salt mountains and, if you're lucky, even spot flamingos in their natural habitat.

After the visit, you'll head to the port of Santa Pola, one of the most iconic along the Costa Blanca. From there, you’ll board a tabarkera – the traditional catamaran that links the mainland to the island of Tabarca. This island, the only inhabited one in the Valencian Community, is a place full of history and charm. You’ll stroll along the old Tabarca walls, discover its fishing harbour, hidden coves, and the relaxed atmosphere of this protected setting. There will also be a chance to walk up to the island’s lighthouse.

During your time on the island, you'll have free time to swim in its crystal-clear waters, enjoy lunch at one of the traditional local restaurants, or visit the small museum.

On the return to the mainland, the group will enjoy a guided tour of Santa Pola’s historic centre, with the chance to see the exterior of the Castle-Fortress, walk along the seafront promenade, and take in the local atmosphere. You'll have some free time to take photos, grab a drink, or browse the local shops before heading back.

Later in the afternoon, the coach will take you back, with a stop in Torrevieja and final drop-off in Alicante. A full day combining stunning landscapes, seafaring culture, history, and nature.
