Excursion to Aveiro, Costa Nova and ride in Moliceiro from Porto

Welcome to a unique Portuguese journey: an excursion that will take you from Porto to Aveiro, where you can sail along its canals in Moliceiro, and to Costa Nova, a destination that all visitors love for its colors, its beach and its quiet atmosphere. We will meet in Porto early in the morning to transfer by private transport to our destination. 

Aveiro

First stop: known as the “Venice of Portugal”. After an hour's drive, we will be greeted by the picturesque canals and the famous moliceiros boats that adorn its waters. Together with our guide, we will take a one-hour guided tour through its cobblestone streets, admiring the traditional architecture and the colorful tiles that adorn the facades.

We will see the most emblematic places of the city: the Carcavelos Bridge, symbol of Art Nouveau, the Arte Nova Museum, the Monument to João Afonso or the Sé de Aveiro Cathedral. Before finishing the tour, we will stop at the Monument to José Estêvão Coelho de Magalhães, one of the most illustrious politicians in the history of Portugal.

We will approach the canals to start the expected moliceiro ride, a popular and charming experience. This sightseeing ride of about 45 minutes offers a unique insight into the architecture, culture and history of Aveiro while enjoying the serenity of the canals and admiring the picturesque views.

Costa Nova

After some free time in Aveiro -about an hour and a half- we head to our next stop: one of the most remarkable beaches of the Portuguese coast. Surrounding the bay, we find some curious and beautiful colorful striped houses that, besides being super curious, are the perfect setting for family and couple pictures. 

Together with the guide, we will learn in an hour-long guided tour the details that make this beach not only emblematic, but also adored by lovers of water sports such as surfing, windsurfing or sailing. At the end, and having taken the necessary photos, we return to the bus to return to Oporto.
