Itinerary

This wine route goes through the Douro Valley stopping at three essential points in the north of Portugal: Pinhão, a typical quinta and Lamego. You will be able to get to know them in detail and also enjoy a boat trip on the Douro River and a wine tasting.

Leaving Porto, you will enjoy a full day visiting places where wine is the protagonist.

Pinhão

This small town, on the right bank of the river, is considered the center of the Douro Denomination of Origin region. Many of the Port producing quintas are located here, and its scenic, natural and cultural importance has earned it the title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Its river port is the starting point for the famous cruises along the Douro River, and from here you will enjoy a boat ride along its course of about 50 minutes. Along the way, you can marvel at the unique panoramic view of the vineyards and terraces that characterize the landscape.

Quinta típica portuguesa

Dejamos la margen derecha y nos desplazamos hasta la izquierda para conocer una de las quintas de la región del Duero más emblemáticas. Haciendo un tour a pie, entenderás qué son las quintas y su función, conocerás cómo se elabora el vino y sus etapas de envejecimiento. 

Podrás ver los viñedos con sus variedades, así como la bodega. Además, harás una cata de vinos al tiempo que descubres su personalidad. Aquí vivirás una experiencia en la que se dan cita los cinco sentidos, siendo este el lugar idóneo para sentir el encanto y la esencia más pura del Duero.

Lamego

Visitarás Lamego, perteneciente al distrito de Viseo, donde dispondrás de tiempo libre para comer y conocer sus rincones. No dudes en aprovechar este rato para descubrir la famosa escalinata barroca -con sus 686 escalones- que asciende hasta la iglesia de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios.

Lamego también presume de contar con un castillo árabe, una catedral gótica y unas elegantes villas y casas del siglo XVII. 

Tras descubrirlo, salvaremos los 130 kilómetros que nos separan de nuestra base, Oporto, y cerraremos esta completa excursión por el Duero con paseo en barco y cata. ¿Te la vas a perder?
