Itinerary
This comprehensive tour shows you several must-see places in Asturias. You will travel from Oviedo to the Covadonga Lakes in comfortable private transport, with an expert guide and a fully planned itinerary, but with free time to discover the destinations in your own way.
We will leave early in the morning from Oviedo to reach the lakes as soon as possible and enjoy the nature, fauna, and flora of the Picos de Europa National Park in all its splendour. Before starting the ascent, we will make a brief stop to go to the toilet and stretch our legs.
On the way, we will drive along the typical winding roads of the Asturian mountains, which offer spectacular scenery through the window.
Once in the park, to which we will have unlimited access because we are on an official excursion, we will go up to the Entrelagos viewpoint to contemplate the Ercina and Enol lakes. Our guide will explain the park and its curiosities on a walking tour.
In this idyllic setting, you will have approximately one hour free to explore the area at your leisure. The terrain is suitable for all types of people, except if you are in a wheelchair. It is an ideal plan to do with your family, as a couple or with friends, especially if you love active tourism and hiking routes.
The next stop will be the Basilica of the Virgin of Covadonga, where you will learn about the origin of Don Pelayo and the beginning of the Reconquest. You will have free time at the Sanctuary of Covadonga to see the tomb of King Pelayo and the Cave of the Santina.
We will descend half an hour by bus to Cangas de Onís, where there will be a brief introduction and two hours of free time.
With our stomachs full, we will go along the Asturian coastline to get unique panoramic views of the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega, three of the must-see places on the Asturian coast. Afterwards, we will stop at the San Roque viewpoint to see Lastres, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, from the heights.
