Itinerary
We'll start the day in the historic quarter of Vegueta, the colonial soul of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
This neighbourhood, declared a Historic-Artistic Site, will take you back to the origins of the city with its cobbled streets, houses with wooden balconies and emblematic buildings. For example, the Cathedral of Santa Ana, the Casa de Colón and the Plaza del Pilar Nuevo.
During the tour, you will learn about the history of the conquistadors, the trade with America and the traditions that have shaped the identity of the island.
Leaving the city behind, we head to the Caldera de Bandama, an impressive volcanic formation more than 200 metres deep and one kilometre in diameter.
The next stop takes us to a banana plantation, where you will discover the importance of this crop in the Canarian economy. Those who wish can complement the experience with a visit to the Banana Museum, a guided tour that shows its history, the production process and its impact on the island. You can also enjoy a tasting of products made from this fruit.
Our route continues to Teror, one of the most charming villages in Gran Canaria. Its basilica houses the Virgen del Pino, patron saint of the island, and its colonial streets are full of life and tradition. Here you'll have free time for lunch and a stroll around the local produce market.
After the break, we will ascend to the summit of Gran Canaria, stopping at the Degollada de Becerra viewpoint to admire Roque Nublo, Pico de las Nieves and the calderas of Tejeda and Tirajana. Later, in Fataga, we will visit a plantation of Aloe Vera, a plant with medicinal properties that is highly valued on the island.
We will end the day in the Maspalomas Dunes, a landscape of golden sand shaped by the wind. Here you can stroll through this unique environment or take a dip in the Atlantic while the sun sets on the horizon.
Discover the contrasts of Gran Canaria on a unique excursion that combines history, nature, and culture: book your places now!
