From Las Palmas: Day trip to Artenara, Tamadaba and cider tasting in Valleseco

This beautiful excursion takes you to the north of Gran Canaria, where you'll discover some of the island’s most stunning and lesser-known landscapes.

Departing from the Poema del Mar aquarium, we head towards the island’s lush green heart, with a first stop at the Cider House in Valleseco. This agricultural gem in the island’s interior offers the chance to taste a distinctive local cider made from apples grown in the fertile valleys of the area. It's the perfect pause to connect with Gran Canaria’s rural traditions and flavours.

The route then continues to Montañón Negro in Artenara, a natural monument of volcanic origin that forms part of Gran Canaria’s geological heritage. Its dark and imposing silhouette stands out among landscapes shaped by volcanic activity, offering insight into the island’s terrain and the richness of its ecosystems.

From there, the tour takes us to Artenara, the highest village on the island. With free time for lunch, you’ll be able to explore this charming historic centre, take in the views, and soak up its peaceful, authentic atmosphere. After lunch, a short guided tour provides a deeper understanding of the village’s unique history and culture.

In the afternoon, the experience culminates at the Tamadaba Natural Park, one of the Canary Islands’ most valuable natural areas. Its pine forest, considered the best preserved on the island, is home to over 200 plant species, some of which are endemic and unique to this region. From the Llanos de la Mimbre viewpoint, perched more than a thousand metres above sea level, you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over northern Gran Canaria.

At the end of the visit, we return to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, rounding off a day filled with nature, history, and unforgettable landscapes.
