Day trip from Gijón to Lagos de Covadonga, Cangas de Onís and Lastres

The bus will be waiting for you first thing in the morning to take you to the Covadonga Lakes on an excursion designed by the Buendía team to make the most of the day.

About two hours later and after enjoying the scenery offered by the Asturian mountain roads, we will get off at the lakes. 

As we are on an organised excursion, access is guaranteed, so we will be able to get there without any problems. Here you will enjoy first-hand explanations from the expert guide about the park and the area. 

Afterwards, you can discover it at your own pace for an hour at your leisure; a unique opportunity to connect with nature, see Lake Enol and Ercina, and enjoy this unique natural environment. 

Still with the colours grey, green and blue reflecting in your eyes, we will head for the Sanctuary of Covadonga, located a little further down, but also nestled between the massifs. The walking tour will give you the opportunity to get to know the most interesting details of this place of religious tradition, where the Basilica of the Virgin and the Cave of the Santina are located.

After learning about its importance and the history of Pelayo, you will have free time to explore the area. We will continue the route descending to Cangas de Onís, an essential town in eastern Asturias, where the guide will give you a brief explanation, and you will have about two hours to have lunch, walk or rest.

On the way back, the bus will leave the usual route to go along the Cantabrian coast passing by the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega, offering you a panoramic tour of your dreams.

As a finishing touch, we will stop for half an hour in Lastres, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, to get unique views from the viewpoint of San Roque.
