Itinerary
Departing from Gijón, this excursion will take you to some of the most emblematic places in the Picos de Europa, combining spectacular landscapes, deep-rooted traditions and unique gastronomy.
The route begins in the direction of Poncebos, an enclave surrounded by mountains where the scenery looks like something out of a fairy tale. Here, the Bulnes funicular awaits us to take us to one of the most special places in Asturias.
This 8-minute ride, completely underground, crosses the mountain and allows access to a village that is almost inaccessible by road, an unforgettable experience in itself.
Once in Bulnes, the sensation of having travelled back in time is unavoidable. Its cobbled streets, stone houses with slate roofs and natural surroundings create a unique atmosphere.
You will have free time to explore the village at your own pace, stop at one of its cider houses to sample the local gastronomy or go up to the viewpoint. From there, you can see the imposing Picu Urriellu, also known as Naranjo de Bulnes, one of the most iconic mountains in Spain.
As the day progresses, we will head to Arenas de Cabrales, the birthplace of one of the most renowned products of Asturias: its famous blue cheese.
In the Cabrales cheese cave, you will discover the artisan process used to make this gastronomic jewel with Protected Designation of Origin. During the visit, you'll learn about its history, the conditions in which it matures in natural caves and the secrets that have made it a true emblem of the region.
The experience culminates with a tasting of this traditional cheese, accompanied by Asturian cider, a combination that reflects the essence of this land and its customs.
A day in which nature, history, and gastronomy are intertwined in a unique setting. Book now and live this unforgettable experience!
