Itinerary
Led by the best expert guides, and with private transportation, you will spend a unique day in the eastern part of Asturias visiting the environment of the Covadonga Lakes.
We will depart from the bus station of Cangas de Onis, a central point that offers a large parking lot where you can park your vehicle if you come from another nearby point.
Our first destination will be the Picos de Europa National Park. On the way up, through typical Asturian roads, we will have unique views of the landscape, between mountains and with the green as the protagonist.
When joining this excursion there will be no inconvenience with the access to the Lakes, limited to tourism in case of going with your own vehicle.
The highlight in the Covadonga Lakes will come when connecting with nature in a peaceful environment: silence, pure air and nature, with all kinds of hiking trails in the area. We will take a guided tour about the place, its fauna and flora for about 30 to 45 minutes when we get off the bus.
We will go to the Entrelagos viewpoint to enjoy the views of Lake Enol and Ercina, both of glacial origin. Afterwards, you will have about an hour of free time to enjoy the surroundings, take a walk, take pictures or have a drink.
Then, we will go down half an hour by bus to the Sanctuary of Covadonga. In front of the Basilica of the Virgin of Covadonga and under the watchful eye of King Pelayo, we will discover the history of Asturias.
Again, you can explore the area at your leisure in the hour of free time, which you can use to approach the Cave of the Santina, a cultural treasure, pride of all Asturians, where the Virgin of Covadonga, patron saint of Asturias, is located.
Finally, the bus will take us back to Cangas de Onis and we will start a short walking tour. Once finished, we will say goodbye and let you taste the delicious Asturian gastronomy in one of its typical restaurants.
This tour lasts about five hours, the time needed to discover two of the most emblematic places in Asturias. Book now and don't miss it!
