Itinerary

Cangas de Onís

Arenas de Cabrales - Cheese Cave
Cangas de Onís

With this excursion to Bulnes, you will experience a full day touring some of the most emblematic corners of Asturias, from Cangas de Onís to Bulnes and Arenas de Cabrales. A journey through spectacular landscapes, charming villages and traditions that have endured over time.

After the bus journey, we will make our first stop in Poncebos, a mountainous enclave surrounded by imposing peaks and valleys sculpted by the Cares River. Here we will begin one of the most special experiences of the day: the ascent to Bulnes on board its famous funicular railway.

This short but exciting ride, completely underground, crosses the mountain in just 8 minutes, allowing you to access one of the most isolated villages in Asturias, where nature and history merge.

Once in Bulnes, you will have free time to stroll through its cobbled streets, visit the Chapel of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, enjoy the local gastronomy in one of its cosy cider houses or climb to the viewpoint.

From there, you will be able to contemplate the silhouette of Picu Urriellu, also known as Naranjo de Bulnes, an emblem for mountain lovers.

In the afternoon, the excursion continues to Arenas de Cabrales, cradle of one of the most appreciated traditions of Asturias: the production of its renowned blue cheese.

We will visit the Cabrales cheese cave, a place where you will learn all about this delicacy with Protected Designation of Origin. You'll discover how it matures in natural caves and learn the secrets that have made it a gastronomic reference point.

To round off the day, you'll enjoy a tasting of this traditional cheese, accompanied by Asturian cider, a perfect combination that reflects the essence of the region.

Discover an authentic side of Asturias and immerse yourself in its history, landscapes and unmistakable flavours. Places are limited, book now and don't miss out!
