Day trip to Bruges from Brussels by train with canal boat tour

We’ll depart early by train from Brussels to Bruges, a medieval gem that has preserved all its charm through the centuries. Along the journey, a knowledgeable guide will accompany you, sharing essential tips and insights to make the most of your day.

The walking tour begins at Minnewater, the Lake of Love, one of the city’s most peaceful and photogenic spots. Just nearby, we’ll visit the Beguinage — a cluster of 13th-century houses that once sheltered women devoted to a life of faith and care. We’ll continue through narrow lanes like Stoofstraat and lively squares like Walplein, once part of the original city walls.

The tour takes us to Saint John’s Hospital, one of the oldest in Europe, and the Church of Our Lady, home to a sculpture of the Virgin and Child by Michelangelo — one of the few outside Italy. We’ll also pass the Gruuthuse Palace and the Tanners’ and Burg Squares, rich in history and tradition.

At the Basilica of the Holy Blood, you’ll see a sacred relic that’s been venerated for generations. After the guided tour, you’ll enjoy free time to explore: take a scenic canal boat ride (included), taste handmade Belgian chocolates, sip a local beer or listen to the magical sound of the medieval belfry’s carillon.

In the late afternoon, the group will meet again to return to Brussels by train, with the guide always available to ensure everything runs smoothly.
