Itinerary
Benidorm is the most iconic tourist destination in the province of Alicante, but between a day at the beach and a stroll along the seafront promenade, there are other unique nearby spots that you can — and should — discover. Altea, Guadalest, and the Algar Waterfalls are some of the most enchanting.
Departing mid-morning, you’ll travel comfortably by coach to the first stop of this excursion: Altea.
This peaceful village, rich in Mediterranean charm, boasts six kilometres of coastline, including pebble beaches and charming coves. No postcard of the area would be complete without the iconic blue dome of the Church of Our Lady of Consolation, a key landmark in Altea’s old town. On a guided walking tour, we’ll explore highlights such as Portal Vell, the Glorieta del Mar, and Carmelina Sánchez Cutillas Square, before enjoying some free time to have lunch and discover the town at your own pace.
Afterwards, we’ll hop back on the coach and head to Guadalest, just 20 km away, where the scenery changes completely — you’ll leave the sea behind and be amazed by the stunning colours of the Guadalest Reservoir, the central feature of this mountain-meets-sea region.
The village has been declared a Historic Site and a Cultural Asset of Interest due to its remarkable heritage. Highlights include the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the town hall, and the Castle of San José. With our expert guide, we’ll enjoy a walking tour to learn about the most significant landmarks and historical facts. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to visit the town’s many museums — despite having only around 200 residents, Guadalest is home to no fewer than eight museums. After making the most of your visit, we’ll return to the coach and set off for the final stop.
In the afternoon, the excursion continues to the Algar Waterfalls, a unique natural reserve along the Algar River, known for its numerous waterfalls and natural pools. During the journey, the guide will provide information about the site, and once there, you’ll enjoy around two hours of free time — the perfect opportunity to wander, take in the natural surroundings, or enjoy a refreshing swim.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy an unforgettable day exploring some of the most charming spots in Alicante province.
