Asturias is a box full of surprises and we want you to discover all its most incredible places on a trip accompanied by our expert local guides. For that, departing from Oviedo early in the morning, you will start a sensational journey that will get you to a cozy fishing village called Ribadesella.
Here, on the first stop, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know one of the most impressive old villages in Asturias, as well as all its stately buildings, which will surely leave a mark on you. We’ll begin visiting the hermitage, where you’ll fall in love with this authentic jewel of the Asturian Renaissance. After we’ll walk its streets, learn their customs and traditions, and we will also visit traditional mansions and its impressive port, that will amaze you.
From Ribadesella we’ll head for Llanes, a small treasure by the shore of the Cantabrian Sea. By the hand of our local guides you will learn about the history of the town, the basilica of Santa María de la Asunción in the Cristo Rey’s square, an example of Asturian Gothic. You’ll also visit the Paseo de San Pedro, a precious place with precious panoramic view of the town, next to the Bay of Biscay and the town of Llanes. In here there’s the so-called Cubes of Memory, a painting that goes along the coastline.
In Llanes you will enjoy free time to eat, and we recommend you to prepare for the best gastronomic experience of your trip, since the local gastronomy is exquisite. Listen carefully to our guide and choose the best option!
From Llanes we will head to our third stop on the route: Cantabria. Once we step outside Asturias we’ll go straight to Santillana del Mar, where we will enjoy a guided tour through the most outstanding places of this beautiful Cantabrian town. Santillana is one of the villages with the greatest historical and artistic heritage in Spain. There are even many who say that the town by itself is already a monument that must be contemplated. Here is the Cave of Altamira, a renowned place where prehistoric art is shown, and this is only one of the multiple charms of this city.
Once the visit is finished you will have free time around the city, so you can roam and shop, or have a drink while you continue enjoying its streets and its people. After, we will travel back to Gijón. An amazing trip to some of the best cities in the north of Spain, a true adventure you must live!
