Itinerary

We’ll start our journey in Gijón once the group has gathered. From there, we’ll depart to our first destination, the beautiful fishing village of Luarca, in the municipality of Valdés.

Enjoy everything that must be seen in Luarca, a place by the sea, whose uniqueness is greatly influenced by the coast. A village full of activity and restaurants, impressive views from its height and a gorgeous historic centre where you can see the day by day of its inhabitants.

Get to know a little more about its Town Hall, its casino and the Church of Santa Eulalia. See their wonderful Casas de Indianos that tell one of the most recent and important chapters of Asturias history. Know more about the migratory current that branded the most part of the region, and the return of all those who migrated in search of fortune…

This place is also known for its famous cemetery, from where the best views of Luarca can be seen. We will also visit the hermitage of La Regalina, which is located in Cadavedo and is one of the jewels of Asturias both from its uniqueness and the privileged place where it is located. Without a doubt, it's infinite views over the Cantabrian Sea that will leave you speechless.

After, we’ll depart towards Cudillero, and get yourself prepared because we are going to arrive to a place that, for many, is the most beautiful village in Asturias. This is one of the visits that must be made in Asturias.

We’ll arrive at the port, popularly known as the Amphitheatre due to its round shape. From there, we will walk to its Rectory House, which today functions as a culture centre and museum, and after we’ll visit the well-known Cudillero’s Lighthouse, located on top of a watchtower that offers incredible views.

Cudillero has been classified as a Historic-Artistic Complex due to its art-related spaces, such the Quinta de Selgas, where the first painting of Goya is exhibited. There’s also the Jesús del Nazareno’s Church, or Santa María de Soto de Luiña, or the Chapel of the Humilladero, the oldest building with an altarpiece from the 17th century.

In here we will have free time, so it's your chances to have a good rest and try the wonderful dishes of Asturian cuisine. Try as many as you can!

After this pause, we’ll head to Avilés, where we’ll arrive to one of the most important cities in Asturias. In here, we will have the opportunity to learn more about the Niemeyer Center, and the Sabugo neighborhood, two authentic emblems of this city. We will also have a chance to discover the marinera tradition, which we’ll see in the sailor neighborhood.

We’ll also walk through one of the most interesting corners of Avilés, the Church of Santo Tomás, popularly baptized simply as “The Cathedral”. But the tour is not over! To complete this route we’ll have a visit to the Town Hall, the Palace of Ferrara and downtown.

After a long day of wonders and traditions, we will return to Gijón. Let yourself be amazed by the best views and the warmest villages, enjoy amazing dishes and discover unique places… Come and let yourself experience Asturias!
