Itinerary
If you are in Alicante and want to explore its surroundings while making the most of your trip, this excursion is just what you need. Departing early in the morning, we will head towards Benidorm to pick up other participants before continuing to our first stop: Altea.
In this charming corner of the Costa Blanca, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of its beautiful old town. We'll wander through its narrow, cobbled streets, taking in the whitewashed houses with their lovingly decorated balconies. In the historic centre, the Church of Our Lady of Consolation and its iconic domes stand out, visible from almost anywhere in this Marina Baja town. Once the walking tour is over, you'll have free time to stroll around and grab a bite to eat at your own pace.
Next, we’ll hop back on the coach and make our way to Guadalest, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Spain. We’ll begin with a walking tour that will take us to its must-see landmarks, such as the Castle of San José, a historic fortress nestled among the mountains, offering breathtaking views.
As we admire the Baroque church or the Town Hall square, we’ll uncover the secrets of the Orduña family, owners of a notable 17th-century noble house that now holds an impressive art collection. Despite its small size, Guadalest is home to several unique and fascinating museums you won’t want to miss during your free time.
You’ll have the opportunity to visit the Museum of Microminiatures, the Microgiant Museum, the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum, or the Ethnological Museum. This will also be the ideal moment to enjoy lunch at your leisure.
In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the Algar Waterfalls, a natural reserve featuring cascades and natural pools where you can relax in the open air. You'll have about two hours of free time to explore at your own pace, perhaps heading to the Arboretum or the Estret de Sacos area. And if you feel like it, it's the perfect spot to take a refreshing swim before we head back to Alicante.
