Itinerary Itinerary

The history and legends of a city are found in the most remote and special places, but also in famous monuments and popular sculptures. On our Free Tour Legends and Modernism in Palma, during a two-hour walk, we will discover the best legends, mysteries and curiosities of Palma de Mallorca. But also its incredible modernist architecture, visiting buildings as impressive as El Águila and Can Forteza Rey, located in the Marqués del Palmer square.

The tour, which visits different points in the old town of Mallorca and is a wonderful opportunity to discover an incredible and unique city, includes the following buildings, monuments, spaces and sculptures. We start the free tour in front of "Es Foner", a bronze sculpture in honor of the slingers who in the ancient age formed their own army. Made by Llorenç Rossello, it dates from 1898 and has influences from Rodin.

The next stop is the Royal Palace, also known as La Almudaina. Until the 20th century the Palace was the residence of governors, kings, etc. Today, it is a museum of furniture and tapestries. Its wall bears witness to the history of Mallorca from the megalithic settlements. We will also tell you where the best viewpoint of the Cathedral of Mallorca is and the legend about the walled lady, which will surprise you. Another very popular legend that we will talk to you about before heading to the Convent of Santa Clara is that of the dragon of na Coca.

From the Poor Clares monastery we will go to the Jewish quarter to learn about the history of this community in Mallorca, which dates back to the 1st century AD. Our guide will also show you one of the most famous squares in the city: Plaza de Santa Eulàlia, where the Church of the same name is located. We will also see the church of San Nicolás and show them where the Mallorca City Hall is located.

The tour will continue with the discovery of two precious examples of the beautiful modernist architecture in Mallorca: Can Forteza Rey and El Águila. Finally, we will end the Free Legends and Modernism tour in Palma from the Plaza Mayor.
